The developer, Wattle Run Developments Pty Ltd has now reached agreement with Council to upgrade Brays Road and the intersection that joins with the new connecting road, Arcadia Drive, at Griffin.
Hall Contracting Pty Ltd has been awarded the contract to undertake the works. Hall has established its site office, preparing to commence the civil works for the new roads.
The project will upgrade part of Brays Road, ensuring that this busy local arterial continues to accommodate the growing traffic volumes around the development in a safe environment for Griffin locals.
The project will include:
Upgrading a part of Brays Road in the vicinity of Freshwater Hub precinct to widen the road to four lanes.
Adding a signalised intersection at the intersection with Cairns Road, with a new fourth leg into the new road, Arcadia Drive, forming a new connection between Brays Road and Wesley Road.
Safety upgrades for pedestrians and cyclists, including wider paths, cycle lanes where possible, better connections, and safer crossings.
Two new bus stops, one in each direction, with the eastbound stop having direct pedestrian access to the Freshwater Hub precinct.
Access to Brays Road and connecting roads will be maintained throughout the duration of the project with traffic management in place.
