Cairns Road Revised Opening Date

SEE Civil and our client, Wattle Run, the developer of Freshwater Village, recognise the significant impact that the ongoing closure of Cairns Road is having on the local community. We understand the frustration this has caused and sincerely thank the community for its patience and understanding.
1. What is the current status of works?
Due to unforeseen wet weather affecting the construction program and other sequencing matters outside our control, the scheduled reopening of Cairns Road on 31st July 2026 will be delayed.
2. What does this mean for you?
In the meantime SEE Civil will continue to progress works where possible. This will require the temporary pedestrian pathway to be relocated in stages along the western side of the Cairns Road. We ask all pedestrians, cyclists and scooter riders to remain alert, follow signage and directions from site personnel and for cyclists and scooter users to dismount when using temporary pathways.
3. What is the revised time frame for the re-opening of Cairns Rd (Left-In, Left-out Access)?
Subject to weather and construction progress, we are currently aiming to reopen Cairns Rd with left-in and left-out access only by late September or early October.
We will continue to provide you with updates through letterbox updates, project communications, media channels and electronic message boards located at both ends of the project area.
Thank you again for your patience and support as we deliver these important improvements to the local road network.
Notice issued by SEE Civil.
