Works Contract Awarded for Construction of the new road, Arcadia Drive.
Tender for the construction of the new connection road, Arcadia Drive has been awarded to Hall Contracting Pty Ltd.
2. The project will involve building Arcadia Drive to provide access to the Freshwater Village and joining Brays Road to Wesley Road, improving traffic flow in the area, particularly for the local school, Griffin State School. The works include a new signalised intersection into the Freshwater Village shopping centre.
3. The project includes preparatory civil works on the site of the Freshwater Village shopping centre.
4. Hall Contracting Pty Ltd is expected to establish a site office in early December 2024 and is preparing for construction to begin later that month or early next year.
The project for the upgrade of Brays Road and the intersection to join with the new connecting road, Arcadia Drive, is still pending agreement with Council. The developer, Wattle Run Developments Pty Ltd, is hopeful that agreement can be reached soon.
The roadworks, fully funded by Wattle Run Developments Pty Ltd, is expected to provide approximately 30 local jobs over the course of construction.
